Advanced Metal Fabricator / TIG Welder
Quarter-Max LLC is a premier custom race car shop and parts manufacturing facility located in Galesburg, IL. We are a family-owned industry leader with over 35 years of experience in the high-performance and drag racing sector.
We are seeking skilled, self-motivated individuals to join our team in building state-of-the-art drag racing cars, chassis parts, and custom components in our clean, 30,000 sq. ft. air-conditioned facility.
Key Responsibilities & Role
Custom Fabrication: Build state-of-the-art drag racing cars and specialized chassis components.
Precision Welding: Perform high-quality TIG and MIG welding on various automotive parts.
Metalworking: Execute advanced metal fabrication tasks with a focus on precision and structural integrity.
Innovation: Collaborate with a specialized team to produce custom, high-performance racing solutions.
Requirements
Experience: Minimum of 2 years of welding experience (Preferred).
Technical Skills: Advanced metal fabrication skills and proficiency in both TIG and MIG welding.
Qualities: Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and passionate about the racing industry.
Logistics: Must be able to reliably commute or relocate to Galesburg, IL.
Compensation & Schedule
Job Type: Full-time (Monday – Friday).
Schedule: 8-hour shifts with potential for overtime.
Pay: Based on experience and performance.

CNC Operator (Mazak Specialist)
We are seeking a skilled Mazak CNC Operator to join our dynamic manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for operating and programming Mazak CNC machines to produce high-quality components that meet stringent specifications.
Your expertise in machining and manufacturing processes will be crucial in ensuring efficiency and precision throughout production.
Key Responsibilities
Machine Operation: Operate Mazak CNC machines while strictly adhering to safety protocols and operational guidelines.
Programming: Program machines using CAD/CAM software, including SolidWorks.
Technical Interpretation: Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications.
Quality Control: * Utilize precision instruments (calipers, micrometers) to verify dimensions and tolerances. Conduct ongoing inspections to maintain high production standards.
Maintenance & Troubleshooting: Perform routine equipment maintenance and collaborate with engineering to optimize processes.
Cross-Functional Support: Assist in materials handling, fabrication, assembly line operations, and tooling as required.
Required Experience & Skills
CNC Expertise: Proven experience operating CNC machines (Mazak preferred).
Technical Proficiency: Strong knowledge of CNC programming, GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing), and PLC familiarity.
Machinery Versatility: Experience with press brakes, stamping presses, CNC lathes, Flexo presses, and welding equipment.
Mathematical Aptitude: Basic math skills for precise calculations and mechanical troubleshooting.
Background: Previous experience in a manufacturing facility or warehouse environment.

Applicant must have a background in basic automobile technology, is interested in automobiles and motorsports, and possess a sincere desire to learn technical details about vehicle systems. Must be able to multitask, coordinate, manage time effectively, meet previously determined department standards, and strive to increase both personal and team production.
Experience/Education Required:
An individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Candidate must have a High School diploma or possess a GED equivalent. College, phone, customer service, sales experience, and the ability to speak multiple languages are a plus. Proficient in a computer environment.
