STEVIE 'FAST' SMASHES RVW PERFORMANCE IN HIS RJ BUILT CAMARO
On his way to winning Sunday at Virginia Motorsports Park in North Dinwiddie, Virginia, “Stevie Fast” Jackson broke his Radial vs.The World record that he set on Friday night at the Shakedown Nationals XVIII. The reigning NHRA Pro Mod Champion went 3.520 at 212.46 mph in the second qualifying session.
Jackson then went 3.505 at 213.67 mph to get the win over David Reese in the semifinals of the RvW eliminations Sunday morning. Reese went 3.522 at 214.55 mph in the losing effort.
This was the quickest side-by-side pass in Radial vs. The World history.
Even though Reese lost to Jackson, he reset the RvW speed record. The pass by Jackson smashed his previous record two days earlier.
Reese broke the previous speed record on Saturday with a 213+ mph pass, before resetting it again on Sunday.
The Georgia native also defeated Luis de Leon in the final round in RvW. With the win, it was the second straight year that he has won the Shakedown event in RvW.
“Stevie Fast and the Boys win the Shakedown at Virginia Motorsports Park for the second year in a row!,” Jackson said on a post on his Instagram page. “The Shadow performed flawlessly this weekend setting and resetting the Radial World Record time and time again, ending up running 3.505 @ 213 mph. I’m proud of my boys and this momentum is going to carry us into the Gatornationals.”
