Driveshaft covers, along with driveshaft loops, are used in the construction of driveshaft tunnels. In the event of driveline failure, most sanctioning bodies require a minimum 12 in. driveshaft tunnel to help protect the driver from a loose or broken driveshaft.
Driveshaft covers can also known as a driveshaft tunnel or driveshaft enclosure.
