Description
In 2006 Rick Jones invented the first ever Threaded Adjustable Strut Cup Mount to add more adjustability to the front suspension. Ever since, racers and builders alike have ranked the Quarter-Max Threaded Adjustable Strut Cup Mount as one of the most popular and beneficial upgrades you can make to your chassis. When considering threaded adjustable strut cup mounts for your build, don't settle for anything other than the original and the best! Install this kit and trust that it was invented, designed, manufactured, tested, and world championship proven by RJ and our customers for almost 20 years.
Our threaded cup mounts easily give you total control over the front ride height of your car and the travel in the front struts. Infinitely adjust the ride height of the car quickly, without adjusting the springs, by raising or lowering the threaded mounts in the chassis. With our inner adjustment socket tool that comes from the top, this can be done with the car on the ground, even in the staging lanes for last minute tuning. Once you have the strut mount adjusted to achieve your desired ride height, simply lock the spanner nut on the mount. Watch the video below to see how it works!
Choose either the kit with our standard length inner for 1.5 in. range of adjustment, or upgrade to our taller inner for up to 2.5 in. range of adjustment. For racers looking to get the most extension travel from their struts or wanting to raise the front ride height of their car that much higher for even more weight transfer, we recommend selecting the taller inner version. Customers with Drag Week style cars have also found it helpful to raise the front ride height up for more ground clearance on the street then quickly lowering it back down when at the racetrack.
Tuner's Tip: Keep accurate notes on your cup height settings by quickly measuring and recording the depth of the inner cup. Do this by using a set of dial calipers or tape measure from the top of the outer cup to top the inner cup so you always know where you are and where you've been.
The inner strut cup mount features a spherical bearing to eliminate all binding for smooth and consistent front end travel.
You can also increase or decrease the amount of travel in the front struts, which is a great tuning adjustment for weight transfer. To increase the amount of travel in the front end simply lower the spring perch down, which will allow more shaft to be inside the strut at ride height. When the car launches the strut will now travel further before it reaches full extension. Keep in mind, anytime you make an adjustment to the spring you are also changing the ride height of the car. When the spring is lowered to increase travel, the inner strut cup mount would also need to lowered or turned out to raise the chassis back up in order to keep the same chassis ride height to the ground.
During installation the outer cup weld bung can either be mounted sandwiched between the front and rear strut tubes or notched into the side of a one piece strut tube. Either way we recommend purchasing our adjustable strut cup mount gusset brackets #410327 and #410328 to add support and strength (sold separately). For those with biding threads after welding or have accidentally galled them, we do offer a tap that will screw into the outer cup for cleaning up the threads #RJ-219837-1.750 (sold separately).
This kit is manufactured in the USA in house on our CNC machines. Kit includes outer cup chassis weld bungs, threaded inner cup mounts, spanner lock nuts, spherical bearings, proper bushings and washers, special spanner wrench, inner adjustment socket tool, and 15/16 socket tool (necessary to reach the nyloc nut on top of the strut down inside the mount).
Compatible with Strange Struts, Penske Struts, and other similar brands.
